Our Program

Sunstar Meadow Doodles

For The Most Lovable Doodles

Whether they are Olde English Goldendoodles, Golden Mountain Doodles, Sheepadoodles and/or Bernedoodles, all Sunstar Meadow puppies are born and raised in our home with much love and care. We do everything possible to ensure that each puppy has the best start to life with genetic and temperament tested parents.

Over the years we have researched and developed our own puppy enrichment program. Our program includes ENS (early neurological stimulation) exercises as developed by the military in the Super Dog Program, ESI (early scent introduction), and we also use components of the Puppy Culture Program.

Our Goal Is To Create And Provide Healthy, Friendly, Intelligent Pups That Are Ready To Be Your New Best Friend.

All Sunstar Meadow puppies are lovingly raised with our advanced puppy conditioning program. The developmental stages from birth to 16 weeks of age have a great influence on a puppy's overall behaviour and temperament. We focus on safely providing our puppies with as many stimulating experiences as possible.

While Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) is an important part of our program, we don't stop there. We have criteria for each stage of puppy development, such as ensuring that the pups experience at least 5 to 7 different textures under their little puppy paws, introduction to a variety of puppy safe foods, Early Scent Introduction (ESI) as developed by Avidog and so much more.

Sunstar Meadow puppies are well started with their socialization, introduced to house training and conditioned to experience communal crates as safe spaces to relax and sleep. We also expose the pups to a variety of music along with all the sights, sounds, and activities of a busy household.

During their 8 weeks with us the pups are introduced to basic puppy manners, grooming with bathing and drying their fur, sani trims, and weekly nail trims. Each puppy has their nails trimmed and is freshly bathed and dried when they join you on Puppy Go Home Day.

Why Do We Use ENS?

Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) as developed by the US Military's Bio-Sensor Program is also known as the Super Dog Program. And with good reason as using ENS on neonates during days 3 through 16 stimulates their neurological system, which improves the growth and development of the puppy's immune system, cardiovascular system and stress tolerance. Studies show that ENS can also provide a greater resistance to diseases.

What Is Early Scent Introduction?

During the critical development stages of day 3 through day 16 of our puppies lives we use Early Scent Introduction (ESI) to help them with nose awareness and confidence. Early Scent Introduction enhances their ability to identify and react to scents and is beneficial to the puppy's development.

What Do Our Clients Have To Say?

Nola ~ Golden Mountain Doodle
Goldendoodle x Bernedoodle
"When we were researching breeders for a new puppy, Martha was the only breeder to call us and take the time to provide a wealth of information on her puppies.
We really liked her approach and her love  for her dogs. Martha suggested one of her puppies based on our conversation and it was a perfect match when we met our Nola.
Nola is a beautiful and smart puppy girl with a wonderful temperament. She is great with kids and other animals and is easy to train.
We are so happy with Nola and are very grateful that Martha reached out to us after our initial inquiry. We would highly recommend Sunstar Meadow Doodles."

How Does the Puppy Adoption And Selection Process Work?

Adopting a puppy is such a wonderful, exciting and rewarding endeavor! And we realize that the whole process may feel a little overwhelming at times too. We are here to help and will do our best to provide you with the information and assistance you may need.

We'd love to help you meet your new best friend.

1. Contact Us

We hope you enjoy reading through our site to learn about who we are and about the Sunstar Meadow dogs and puppies. If you are interested in experiencing the joy of adopting a Sunstar Meadow puppy, the next step is to reach out to us via email. After we receive your email we will get in touch with you via email to set up a phone interview/application.

2. Phone Interview/Application

To help ensure our puppies are going to loving, responsible homes, we will ask you some questions. This phone interview/application also helps to ensure that we have a clear understanding of what you would like from your new family member. And we also encourage you to ask us any questions you may have about our breeding program, dogs and puppies.

3. Secure Your Puppy Reservation

If we are all in agreement and your Puppy Application is approved you will be given the option of reserving a puppy with a $300 Application Fee via e-transfer. While the Application Fee is non refundable it is transferable to another litter and it goes towards the total puppy price.
The puppy choosing order follows the order in which the Application Fees are received.

4. What Happens Next?

The waiting time between reserving a puppy and the puppy pick up date is one of great anticipation and it is a good time to puppy proof your home and to learn as much as you can about training so you are well prepared for your new family member's arrival.

To minimize exposure to the risk of deadly viruses, like Parvovirus we allow visitors on puppy pick up day only.
We prioritize the care and well-being of the puppies but we also understand how excited you are about getting to know your new puppy so we do our best to post new puppy pictures and updates on our Facebook page every week or two.

5. Choosing Your Puppy

While the puppies are developing we keep your puppy preferences, lifestyle and household members in mind to watch for the pup that may be the best fit for you. We temperament test the puppies at 7 weeks of age after they have had their Vet Health Check Ups and 1st Vaccines. Then we discuss our puppy insights with you and recommend which puppies we feel will be the best fit for you, your family and lifestyle.
We do not choose your puppy for you but to help ensure an ideal fit we do provide you with our insights and recommendations about the puppies that are available to you.

6. Puppy Go Home Day

Your adorable puppy will be freshly bathed and groomed and ready to light up your lives.

The puppies will be ready for pick up at 8 weeks of age and the puppy pick up dates and times are scheduled over 2 to 3 days in the order in which the reservation fees are received.

Please be on time, but not too early as we schedule each puppy pick up day carefully to allow enough time to go over puppy information with each client.

The immune system is not considered to be fully developed in young puppies until 10 days after their 3rd set of vaccines.

To protect our puppies and to minimize exposure to deadly viruses, like Parvovirus, do not bring other pets with you on your puppy pick up day.

Do not visit other breeders, dog parks or Veterinary offices for at least a week prior to your puppy pick up day.

Client Feedback

Auggie ~ Olde English Goldendoodle
Goldendoodle x Old English Sheepdog

"Aww Hi Martha!!! So nice to hear from you.

Auggie continues to be the best, most spoiled pup in the world (even more so today, if that's possible!). I can't believe she's already 3! So crazy how times flies! I also cannot tell you how many people stop us on walks to say how beautiful and sweet she is. Whenever we get stopped, people often describe her as either majestic or regal.

We all cannot imagine our lives without her. She's going to get lots of gifts (treats, toys, balls, chew sticks) tonight. Not sure how many toys a dog needs, but Auggie has buckets of them. Auggie is a big playful, snuggly pup! She's really the best. Sooo loved!

We always say how lucky we are because she is truly such a great dog in every possible way."
